SoCal Hyundai Dealerships Prepping for Fuel Cell Vehicles

April 17, 2014 | By Hydro Kevin Kantola | Filed in: Uncategorized.

On this past Tuesday, April 15, 2014 I had talked about how the delivery of Hyundai ix35 Tucson Fuel Cell SUV’s to Southern California dealerships had been delayed. I also talked about how one major insurance company was onboard for insuring drivers of this leading edge technology.

Now I want to talk about some other preparations that the four selected SoCal car dealerships are undertaking for the arrival of the fuel cell vehicles. This includes training of sales staff and key technicians.

According to Edmunds, “Select dealers in Southern California are preparing for the arrival of the 2015 Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell. Key dealership personnel, including the salespeople, are getting the opportunity to drive the Hyundai Tucson Fuel Cell before deliveries begin.

“The first four Hyundai dealers to offer the Tucson Fuel Cell to Southern California customers are Hardin Hyundai in Anaheim, Win Hyundai in Carson, Keyes Hyundai in Van Nuys and Tustin Hyundai, with additional Hyundai dealers to follow. Availability of the Tucson Fuel Cell will expand to other regions of the country consistent with the accelerating deployment of hydrogen refueling stations, the automaker said in a statement.”

Three factors were considered when picking the right dealerships to support this program, which include proximity to hydrogen fueling stations, top level customer satisfaction and willingness to invest time and resources to support the fuel cell program.
