Solar-Hydrogen Home In Washington State, Part 2

June 25, 2007 | By Hydro Kevin Kantola | Filed in: Hydrogen Economy.

Last week I had talked about three friends who had built a solar-hydrogen home in Washington State. I emailed one of the friends, Jason Lerner, to ask him how the project is moving along.

Here is his reply:

Jason Lerner: Yes, our project is going well. We are just installing the newest fuel cell from Reli-on, and gearing up to turn back on the hydrogen makers for the summer. For off-grid systems, our system is great for using all the extra power that is created (and wasted) in the spring, summer and fall months.

What we need now to make it viable for everyone is a low-pressure hydrogen storage system that doesn’t take up as much space as our 500 gallon tank. Perhaps we will find the answer on your blog in the future?
