Mingdao University in Taiwan has developed its fourth generation MHV4 hydrogen car. With the look of a golf cart, the MHV4 can accelerate with speeds up to 18 mph and has a range of 24 miles.

The MHV4 runs off a 5 kw fuel cell battery-operated engine that is said to run off of water and is expected to be more powerful in future generations of the vehicle and on par with gasoline-powered engines. According to the researchers at Mingdao University, the difference between the MHV4 and older generation vehicles is the kind of computerized information generated and the ability to store that information.

Taiwan currently imports 95-percent of its petroleum so its no wonder that the researchers at the Mingdao University are feverishly working on clean and green alternatives to this kind of energy dependence.
