New York Couple Want to Be Fuel Cell Car Ambassadors

Two weeks ago I received a letter from a couple in Georgia who wish to drive around the country promoting hydrogen technology. This week I received an email from a couple, Linda and Clifford, in New York who wish to drive around the country educating people about how hydrogen fuel cells work.

Here is the email from Linda and Clifford:

Linda: “How can we become fuel cell car test drivers and ambassadors?

My husband and I are young, retired science teachers currently living in Central New York. We love to travel and have relatives in the New York City area, Florida, Utah and Oregon. We are excited about the prospect of fuel cell powered vehicles, and feel that the fuel cell is the means to energy independence, not only for vehicular use but for many other energy needs. Local / individual fuel cells could make us independent of the power grid and therefore less vulnerable to many of the grid-associated problems and threats. I have such confidence in the future of fuel cells that I have invested in various fuel cell companies and follow their products and progress with much interest.

Our vision is to travel in a fuel cell vehicle, stopping at parking lots, malls, fairs, festivals and the like to explain how the fuel cell works. Included in our presentation would be educational materials and perhaps even a small, working model of a fuel cell car. We find that most people do not understand how the different types of fuel cells work, nor do they realize how much progress has been made in the area of hydrogen-powered vehicles or understand the promise that fuel cells hold for our society and world!

As science teachers, we feel we can educate the public and generate enthusiasm for fuel cells, in addition to collecting any necessary data. As retirees, we are free to travel anywhere at anytime! If you can help us with our goal of being traveling fuel cell ambassadors and test drivers, we would appreciate it. Please feel free to forward this email to anyone you feel might also be interested in our proposal.”

It’s great to see more and more people jumping aboard the hydrogen bandwagon and willing to take meaningful action on its behalf. If you would like to help out Linda and Clifford in their efforts, email me through the Contact page of the main website and I will forward your email to them.
