In April 2008, I talked about Boeing putting the first manned fuel cell powered aircraft into flight. And there have been many times in the past 4 years (yes, the blog is that old), that I’ve talked about hydrogen powered unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs).
A new liquid hydrogen-powered UAV which is also a high altitude long [...]

I’ve talked about this before but I haven’t talked about it in a while and there is an update in regard to converting cars, trucks or vans to run on hydrogen gas. Now, converting an internal combustion engine (ICE) to run on hydrogen is not quite as clean out the tailpipe as a fuel cell, [...]

According to Pike Research, which is a marketing and consulting firm in the green tech field that offers in-depth analysis on a wide variety of alternative energy subjects, there will be 2.8 million fuel cell vehicles on the roads by the year 2020.
The report titled “Fuel Cell Vehicles: Light Vehicles, Medium/Heavy-Duty Trucks, Transit Buses, and [...]

Since I haven’t heard much about the Ford H2ICE (hydrogen internal combustion engine) shuttle buses that were rolled out between 2006 and 2008, I thought it was time for an update on this program. So, I contacted a spokesperson for Ford Motor Company Communications and a Ford H2ICE Service Engineer for an update.
Here is the [...]

With the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics in full swing and hydrogen fuel cell buses and Chevy Equinox FCVs carrying people to and fro plus the British Columbia Hydrogen Highway system in full use, there has been another development for Western Canada.
In October 2007, I had talked about how the world’s largest retailer, Walmart was demoing [...]

Tata Motors, a company which produces the world’s cheapest new car, the Nano has decided to start testing light trucks and buses equipped with hydrogen fuel cells. In August 2009 I had talked about how Tata had announced they were working on a fuel cell version of the Nano as well
The FC powered light trucks [...]

In November 2009, I had talked about how the first of the 20 BC Transit hydrogen fuel cell buses were arriving in Whistler, British Columbia in time for the 2010 Vancouver Winter Olympics.
The 20 BC Transit hydrogen buses, powered by Ballard fuel cells, are the largest single bus fleet anywhere. Besides being zero emissions vehicles, [...]

There has been a lot of development and commercialization of hydrogen fuel cell forklifts over the past couple of years. I’ve talked about FCV forklifts in the U. S. food industry, including Coca-Cola and FCV forklifts for Walmart. Outside the U. S. I’ve talked about fuel cell forklifts in Scandinavia and Germany.
This past summer I [...]

This is a little futuristic and still in the concept phase but I’d like to talk about it since it ranks high on my “coolness” gauge. A British design company called Seymourpowell was commissioned by Samsung Construction and Trading (C&T) to come up with a futuristic design for hydrogen powered air travel.
The Seymourpowell Aircruise is [...]

Okay, I’ll admit this is a stretch from the usual talk about hydrogen cars and vehicles. Let’s chalk this one up to “hydrogen transportation” or at least “hydrogen assisted transportation”.
In the past, I’ve talked about the Honda ASIMO robot powered by fuel cell and a bionic arm powered by hydrogen peroxide. So, now when I’m [...]
